DJ Nix Beat
Nick Kuzmack aka Nix Beat is a writer and DJ with over 15 years of experience in journalism, djing editing, copy writing and research. Kuzmack adheres to the philosophy a “you’re only as good as your last article.” A practice reflected in his written and DJ work. As a music writer, he has interviewed a wide variety of artists and reviewed hundreds of albums. His passion for this music is reflected by his knowledge of rock n’ roll, doo wop, garage rock, soul, glam, power pop, punk and new wave. Utilizing these diverse styles, he writes compelling articles and as a DJ weaves together his music selections to fit every night, party, concert or event he spins for.
DJ Nix Beat hosts The Roxy every Saturday 2pm to 4pm on KUAA 99.9 FM. He also spins for several residencies in Salt Lake City, Utah, and travels regularly to DJ both nationally and internationally.
Since 2012 DJ Nix Beat has managed numerous club nights. These include The Freak Out, One Chord Wonders, RIP IT UP, The Broadway Beat Club, Sway, Alibi-Beat Club, The Rumble, Rock N’ Roll Discotheque and Aces High Saloon’s Punk and Heavy Metal Night.
As of 2014 he has spun records for local and touring bands. Among these groups are Giuda, The Vibrators, The Schizophonics, Raven, Bad Sex, Protex, The Jackets (CH), The Darts (US), The Dirty Fences, Atomic Suplux, Eight Rounds Rapid, The Night Beats, Lu Luz, Hal Holiday, Foster Body, Lean Canteen, WitchDoktors, The Kramers, Bloodshot Bill, BizNaga, The Cry, Ex-Cult and The English Beat.
He has additionally spun at SLUG Magazine’s Annual SLUG Cat, Utah Rockabilly Presents at Piper Down Pub (SLC), DJ Rockin Robin’s Shake Up (SLC), Jesse Walkers Bunny Hop (SLC), Pop Tavern ( PDX), The Vern (PDX), Star Bar (PDX), at Brian Moy‘s Dirty Rock & Roll Dance Party ( LV), High Rollers Vegas Scooter Rally & Music Weekend 2025/2026 ( LV), Pon Pon Bar (Den), and at Bar Please (Boi).
Internationally, DJ Nix Beat has performed at Helgis (Lon) Garageland (Lon), Some Weird Sin (Lon), Elephants Head (Lon), Tick Tick Boom at Helen of Troy (Lon), Cafe Fig ( AMS), Cafe Checkpoint Charlie( AMS), La Aguja (Mad, ESP), Sonico Beat Beer Bar (Mad, ESP), EL Plan 9 (MU, ESP) for The Gruesomes After Party at Fun House (MAD, ESP) and the 7th Berlin Beat Invasion in 2025 and 2026 ( BE, GER).
Throughout his career DJ Nix Beat has collaborated with fellow DJs.
